Lets kick off with the intro about Camstudio.
Camstudio is an open-source, cross platform (for all operating systems Windows, Mac, Linux and others) and free tool to record screen or desktop of your computer.It also can record live audio either from the speakers or microphone and also comes with a feature to sync or delay the audio and video.
Output video format can be varied to AVI (high quality ) or SWF (low quality generally for web content). However it allows users to use codecs of their choice.
The software and some loss-less good quality codecs can be downloaded from here.
After u download camstudio just install it the regular way and run it.
Now the camstudio opens up and i posted some pics below for u to get it.
As u can see in the picture below it also has the features to record screen in fixed, custom (fixed region that can autopan) regions and also full screen.
